Kids deserve an athletic experience built for kids, not adults.
Youth basketball is a bit of a mixed bag at the moment.
On one hand, basketball is just as perfect as it’s always been. Whether you’re tossing a crumpled-up paper into a recycling bin or hitting game-winning shots in the NBA Playoffs, there’s something about basketball that resonates with people around the globe.
It’s why millions of kids have fallen in love with the game, taking lessons from the court and using them in life and work.
From rec leagues to school sports, Basketball has been an outlet for countless kids to make friends, challenge themselves, and, most importantly, have fun. Though in too many cases, kids are being pushed beyond their limits, forcing them to treat sports like a full-time job, sucking the joy out of the game they love.
I don’t care what level you play or what level you want to play at; Basketball should be rooted in joy. As a dad, I want my kids to enjoy their experience on the court, whether it occupies their elementary school days or takes them to the WNBA.
I built Courtside Coaching to mix my history in athletics with my love of fatherhood, ensuring my clients find purpose in the work on the court.
My Coaching Philosophies
Make Learning Fun
Build Strategic Thinkers
Empower Athletes to Make Mistakes
Lean Into the Power of Teamwork
At Courtside Coaching, I believe that great athletes start with great experiences. My approach is rooted in four core values: making learning fun, empowering kids to make mistakes, building strategic thinkers, and leaning into the power of teamwork.
I want every athlete to love the process, not just the results. That means creating an environment where they feel safe to try, to fail, and to grow.
Whether we’re running drills or playing games, I’m just as focused on their mindset as I am on their mechanics, because the lessons we learn on the court carry far beyond it.
When kids enjoy what they’re doing, they stay confident, curious, and committed—and that’s where real development happens.
What I Teach
Court speed and agility
Defense that creates turnovers
Shooting with confidence
Ball handling
Driving to the rim
Game IQ and decision making
Moving without the ball
As a coach, I teach the skills that matter most—on and off the court. From court speed and agility to confident shooting and ball handling, every session is designed to help athletes build a strong foundation. We work on defense that creates turnovers, driving to the rim with purpose, and developing a high basketball IQ.
I also teach kids how to move without the ball and make smarter in-game decisions so they can be valuable teammates in any system. It’s not just about drills—it’s about developing well-rounded players who understand the game, trust their instincts, and play with confidence.
